Here are some important things you need to know and action items:
- The girls golf team is a no-cut sport so that every girl who would like to pursue the game of golf has a chance to do so. There is a co-ed varsity golf team and I would encourage experienced golfers to try-out for the team. Contact Coach Jon Eisman at jon.eisman@gmail.com if interested. Girls on the co-ed varsity team can also be included on the girls golf team (there are more opportunities to make post-season play).
- Since golf is a sport outside of the Madison campus, there are charges that we incur and there is a $100 sports fee (includes practice balls, greens fees and a team shirt)
- Players are expected to dress appropriately for the game of golf (collared shirts and appropriate length golf skirts and shorts only - no jeans, no cut-offs, no tee-shirts – some courses have more restrictions and we will note those if needed)
- All players must submit all paperwork needed to the activities office prior to February 10 to be in compliance.
- Please send to me the following information:
- Athlete name
- Email address
- Parent names and emails
- Shirt size
- We have a limited number of golf clubs for loan to athletes. We will supply balls for putting practicing and matches.
- Post-season play: Athletes become eligible to participate in post-season play (Zones, which is like Regionals) when a player posts a score better than 45 on nine holes of a regulation course.
Prior to the start of the season, I will update you on scheduled practices and matches and what Covid precautions we will need to employ.
Happy New Year and welcome to MAD GOLF!
